Roy Pitchford
Roy is a CA(Z), FCCA and was President of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe. His extensive mining management experience includes the CEO roles of African Minerals, Cluff Resources Zimbabwe, Delta Gold Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Australia listed), and African Platinum Plc (UK listed). He led the sales of Zimbabwe Platinum Mines and African Platinum Plc for US$400 million and US$600 million respectively to Impala Platinum. Roy is the Umbono Group London representative, serves as chairman of Umbono's platinum company, Lesego Platinum Mining and is chairman of Umbono's advisory board
Bernard Swanepoel
Bernard holds a BSc (Min Eng) BCom (Hons) degrees and started his career with Gengold in 1983, culminating in his appointment as general manager of Beatrix Mines in 1993. After joining Randgold in 1995 as MD of the Harmony mine, Bernard became CEO of Harmony and grew the firm from a single mine to the 5th largest gold miner in the world producing 3 million ounce annually. Bernard is a non-executive board member of Sanlam and ARM, CEO of Village Main Reef, a JSE-listed precious metals mining company in which Umbono is a large shareholder and vice-president of the South African Chamber of Mines
Elaine Ellingham
Elaine is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) and holds a BSc (Geol), MSc (Geol) and MBA from the University of Toronto. She has extensive experience in capital markets, finance and mining and exploration geology, serving as National Leader, Mining for the Toronto Stock Exchange after 15 years' industry experience as an exploration geologist and as a senior VP at IAMGold. Elaine is currently active in several mineral exploration projects and serves on the Umbono's Advisory Board
Dr Oskar Steffen
Oskar is a Pr. Eng., holds BSc (Eng), MSc (Eng) and PhD (Eng) degrees and has over forty five years of mining industry experience. He was the chief executive and founder of SRK Consulting, one of the world's leading mining engineering consultancy companies. Oskar is also a past president of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM). Oskar serves on Umbono's Advisory Board
