Rob, a founder of Umbono, is a chartered accountant (SA), CFA charterholder and has a Msc (Eng) with 18 years’ experience in finance, strategy and investment banking. Over the past six years Rob and the Umbono team have built Umbono's natural resources investment portfolio from a negligible starting capital base to a significant portfolio of assets across three continents. Rob serves as the Group Chief Investment Officer overseeing Umbono's investment activities in Africa and North America
Dorian Wrigley - Managing Director Africa
Dorian, a founder of Umbono, is a Civil Engineer, Pr.Eng, and serves as the Managing Director covering Umbono's Africa business. Dorian has 17 years' experience in the mining industry ranging from investment management, turn around strategies and investment banking activities such as capital raising, corporate restructurings, BEE transactions, mergers and acquisitions and disposals for major and junior mining companies
Kerwin Rana - Managing Director South Africa
Kerwin holds a BSc (Chemical Engineering) and is a Pr.Eng with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He has 15 years of mining industry experience gained through various executive and managerial roles within the De Beers Group, including Head of New Business and General Manager of De Beers' Kimberley Mines, and as an investment manager with the Umbono Group. Kerwin is a principal of Umbono and focuses on coal and energy mineral investments for Umbono, particulary in South Africa
Phiwayinkosi Mbuyazi - Director
Phiwayinkosi, a founder of Umbono, holds a BSc (Eng) and a BA(PPE) from Oxford. He worked for De Beers for a number of years, initially in commissioning the Venetia Mine, later in diamonds marketing in London and in general management. Phiway has participated in various investment banking advisory activities for the Umbono Group and has been instrumental in Umbono's investment acquisitions in South Africa. Phiway is a principal of Umbono and focuses on mining investments in South Africa
Dylan Morgan - Director North America
Dylan holds a BSc (Hons) in geophysics from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and heads Umbono's North American office in Vancouver, Canada. He has managed mineral exploration programs in the Canadian Arctic (Northwest Territories), the Yukon Territory, Zambia, Namibia, and South Africa. His main focus areas are currently oil and gas investment management and new acquisition evaluation in North America, and he has diverse experience in corporate finance and operational and project management

Pieter is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and CFA charterholder with more than ten years' experience in the financial services industry. Pieter worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sanlam, and the AST Group and subsequently with Umbono. Pieter has served Umbono's power generation clients and assisted in various Group investment management activities. Pieter is a principal of Umbono and focuses on base and precious metal investments for Umbono
